Panel faults, bus damage and service changes

Martin Willfish

Panels are the whole job here, and that is deliberate. Martin Willfish spent years being called in behind other contractors to work out why a board was running warm, and opened Willfish Construction in 2009 to do only that. A normal week is bus-bar pitting on split-bus boards from the seventies, lugs that were never torqued to spec, Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels that owners have only just learned they have, and 100-to-200 amp service changes for houses that outgrew their supply a decade ago. Martin holds a master electrician licence through MABCD in Sedgwick County and opens every board with a thermal camera before quoting anything.

Half the panels I get called to look at need one component, not a replacement. That is the number nobody in this trade wants published.
