What is typical on a West Wichita board?

Why does the same breaker position keep failing?
Because the problem is the stab, not the breaker. When a bus stab loses its grip, the breaker sitting on it arcs slightly every time current flows, and that heat degrades the new device exactly as it degraded the last one.
Replacing the breaker a third time is money spent on a symptom. We check the stab as part of any breaker work, and where the bus has been damaged we say so, because that is the point where a repair stops being possible.
